Angry Birds Dream Blast and Angry Birds Friends invite players to help protect a creature that is not only a vital part of ocean ecosystems, but probably the cutest thing on the planet.
We are thrilled to announce that Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds Dream Blast are returning for the 2026 Green Game Jam, marking Rovio’s sixth consecutive year participating in this incredible global initiative. As founding members of the Playing for the Planet Alliance, we have always believed that games have the power to do more than just entertain. They can inspire a worldwide movement to protect our beautiful blue marble. This year, in partnership with Dots.eco, we are focusing our efforts on the deep blue sea to support a cause that is as urgent as it is adorable: the survival of sea turtles.
Imagine a single little baby sea turtle. Pretty cute, right? Now imagine close to 30,000 of the little guys. It’s almost too much to handle! Who wouldn’t want to help these little hatchlings in any way they can? The birds are jumping in beak first with limited time events in Angry Birds Dream Blast and Angry Birds Friends, both themed around saving ocean habitats and those precious little baby sea turtles. The more people play, the more awareness is raised, and ultimately, the more of those sweet, adorable, wide-eyed turtle hatchlings are saved.
Dive into the details below to learn about what is happening in Angry Birds Dream Blast and Angry Birds Friends.
Starting on May 26, players might notice the world of Angry Birds Dream Blast is looking a little different. The game is undergoing an exciting update, bringing a fresh aesthetic to the dream world. The centerpiece of this transformation is the debut of the Dream Pass, a new way for players to experience heartwarming stories while they play. The inaugural event, titled Ocean Rescue, takes our birds on a journey to restore a vibrant coral reef, and it is the perfect opportunity to join up with the Green Game Jam. As players pop bubbles and progress through the game, eventually earning a Dream Orb in the event, they are contributing to a massive community mission to save the sea, and at the same time help baby sea turtles in real life. Ocean Rescue will be live in Angry Birds Dream Blast May 26 – June 22.
Over in Angry Birds Friends, the competition is heading underwater with the Dive Against Swine tournament running from June 4 to June 10. This seven-day event features 38 vibrant levels set in a living underwater world bursting with color and life. Players will join our heroic birds to protect Hawksbill Turtle nests and guide hatchlings to safety while fending off the reckless rise of piggy invaders. It is a chaotic, high-stakes mission to restore balance to the reef ecosystems and prove that even a grumpy bird can have a soft spot for the ocean.
The real-world impact of these games is being made possible through our partnership with Dots.eco and the Sea Turtle Conservancy. Our collective goal for 2026 is to fund the protection of 29,000 baby sea turtles in the Bocas del Toro region of Panama. This area is a critical nesting ground for hawksbill and leatherback turtles, but these hatchlings face immense threats from habitat loss and predators. Every level players complete and every milestone we reach as a community helps fund beach patrols, nest relocation, and local conservation training to ensure these tiny explorers make it safely from the sand to the surf.
The events kick off today in Angry Birds Dream Blast, so get ready to dive in and help us reach our goal! Together, we can ensure that the only things going extinct are the greedy plans of the green pigs, while our sea turtle friends thrive for generations to come.
