Hey, I’m Lando! At Rovio, I’m part of a new games initiative in the Barcelona office. If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be here today, I would have been thrilled.
Working at Rovio was always one of my biggest career goals, not only because of its well-known, successful titles, but also because a few friends who worked here always raved about the great work environment. I can gladly confirm that for myself now!
That’s not all, though: Barcelona was also high on my radar as a place to live. It’s not as massive as my hometown of São Paulo, nor as small as Oeiras in Portugal, where I lived for three years. It is the perfect size, offering a huge variety of activities and cultural diversity where everyone can find a welcoming neighborhood without it feeling overwhelming or chaotic. From inspiring architecture and beautiful beaches to outstanding nature and nearby snowy mountains, it has everything and never gets boring. Because the landscape is so rich and accessible, I can easily dive into my favorite hobbies: traveling, hiking, going on nature retreats, swimming, and my newest passion, snowboarding.
Combine all of that with the incredible opportunity to make new games at Rovio, where I can truly express my creativity and make a real impact on the product, and I can easily say I have my dream job. I feel grateful and proud of where I am today.
