Our Mission

We craft joy with player-focused gaming experiences that last for decades.

Joy is both our end goal and the means for us to get there. The joy we find in our work translates to games and entertainment that spark imagination and put smiles on peoples’ faces. We want to deliver high-value experiences to our players, and we never take their time with us lightly. We believe joy can stand the test of time and ultimately create meaningful change.

Our Values.

  • Be bold.

We’re ambitious, take risks, move fast, and are the best at getting better.

  • Embrace innovation.

We challenge conventions, marry data with creativity, celebrate success and failure, and experiment with pride.

  • Act with integrity.

We support each other, communicate with honesty and respect, and put our players first.

Heritage in tech and gaming

Rovio is part of a rich heritage of tech and gaming in the Nordics, with the Finnish mobile gaming industry alone reaching €2.1 billion in revenue in 2018.

The gaming industry in the north has shown the world what is possible, not only on mobile devices, but on console, PC, and on emerging technologies like AR and VR.

Nordic by nature.

The Nordics are home to some of the world’s most beautiful unspoiled nature, bursting with dense pine forests, spotted with serene lakes, and peppered with archipelagos. Even in the most populous areas, nature is never far away, and there is always an opportunity to get away and take it all in.

Our Studios

Rovio’s four locations in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Canada are home to seven game studios, each with their own focus and mission. Learn more about the studios that make Rovio’s unique brand of joy a reality.
