Angry Birds joins forces with Finland’s largest zoo to inspire a new generation of conservationists through a fun, educational video series.
Red and the Angry Birds flock are no strangers to helping a good cause. They’re always onboard to lend their voice to initiatives that aim to make the world a better place. Red has recently gotten a chance to join just such an initiative, and one that aims to educate people about animals that are very close to his heart: birds! In a partnership with Helsinki’s Korkeasaari Zoo, Red has been visiting different species of endangered birds to learn why these creatures are so fascinating.
Korkeasaari Zoo is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), which is an organisation working for animal species conservation. They take part in conservation programs around the world from funding important field work, to releasing zoo-born animals into the wild. The zoo is also the home of the largest wildlife hospital in Finland, which helps about 1500 wild animals a year! They also have a long history of conservation education, and that’s where Red comes in.
Viewers can join Red across eight episodes as he learns about some of the most magnificent bird species on the planet from Steller’s Sea Eagles to Snowy Owls. You might be surprised by the secrets these incredible creatures are hiding. Who knows, maybe Red will even find a new member for the flock.
Watch the series on the Angry Birds YouTube channel and stay tuned for a new episode every week until May 31.
