Rovio's award-winning audio team defines how our games and products sound and how audio should be used at Rovio. We are extremely passionate about all things revolving around audio and we pride ourselves in creating immersive and emotionally engaging adaptive audio experiences.

As a Senior Sound Designer you will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing outstanding audio content for game projects. You will work closely with the audio and game team members to define how our game projects should sound like. You will also have the support and assistance of a solid and experienced audio team. When needed you will also supervise external projects and outsourced audio content creation.

This position is based in Espoo, Finland and follows a hybrid work model with two on-site days per week.


You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

  • Plan, record, design, process and implement outstanding audio content for game projects
  • Implement audio content using inhouse or industry standard tools
  • Plan audio identities and requirements for projects
  • Collaborate and communicate directly with game teams to support their audio needs
  • Supervise external projects and outsourced audio content creation
  • Help to develop and maintain in-house audio tools from sound design perspective

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing audio for mobile games, with at least two high quality titles shipped
  • Strong experience in working with mobile games
  • Passion for mobile games and exploring new ideas in mobile gaming
  • Deep understanding of the whole game audio process
  • Strong and demonstrable sound design skills
  • Deep understanding of Unity game engine and its features
  • Demonstrable experience in game scripting, C# or other relevant programming skills
  • Excellent knowledge and knowhow of common audio middlewares
  • Excellent DAW skills and knowledge of industry-standard plugins
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Fluent in English, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowhow of handling stress and remaining calm in challenging situations
