We are now seeking to add a passionate User Experience Designer to join our flock at one of the Puzzle Studio’s world-class game teams.
As Mid-level User Experience (UX) Designer, your role is essential in creating player-centric game experiences that are engaging and delightful as well as aid in reaching the business goals. You will support the game team in different phases of development by gathering player insights, visualizing, prototyping and documenting the UX design. You will ensure the UX design is in line with the overall vision of the game and help execute on that vision. You will also need to actively engage with other disciplines, such as product management, tech, game design, player research, marketing, and art.
Unfortunately, this role cannot be fully remote, and we do not offer relocation support.
You will have impact and fun at work by doing:
- Owning the UX design of specific game design elements, such as core game mechanic or event.
- Actively engaging in feature/game design meetings with game designers, game lead, product manager, analysts, and UX researchers to help in shaping and understanding the goals/problems of the feature or game.
- Helping in visualizing, communicating, and documenting a UX/UI design to the team through paper sketching, wireframes, UI flows, mock-ups, and prototypes
- Helping in observing and annotating playtest videos and communicating finding to the team alongside User researchers
- Actively in deconstructing, documenting, and communicating competitor features and games from a UX lens.
Experience and skills we are looking for:
- Passion and strong knowledge of UX, UI, interaction and emotional design in casual F2P mobile puzzle games.
- Strong understanding in mobile game usability principles and best practices.
- Understanding and identifying the needs and motivations of the diverse target audiences.
- Able to craft well-thought player journeys and design joyful and memorable game experiences.
- Process-oriented, familiar with Design Thinking and other UX methods, tools and processes.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative data for identifying challenges and opportunities and to form hypotheses.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas through verbal, written, and visual means.
