As the Director of Consumer Marketing at Rovio, you will be at the forefront of shaping the long-term success of our key games portfolio. Your role will be pivotal in developing and executing long term marketing strategies and highly creative marketing campaigns that effectively captivate our high value audiences and drive engagement and revenue growth across our games. As  a key central role, you will work closely with our talented marketing leaders embedded in the game studios, leveraging your strategic prowess and creative vision to propel Rovio's games to new heights. An ideal candidate will have worked in FMCG, Entertainment or other consumer based industries with a track record on growing existing products, finding new creative ways to keep them top of mind and increasing market share vs competitors.

You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

  • Consumer-Centric Long Term Marketing Plans: You will lead the charge in developing comprehensive long term consumer marketing strategies aligned with each game’s ambitious growth objectives. Your strategic vision will guide our marketing efforts, ensuring that each campaign is meticulously planned and executed to maximize impact. You'll be responsible for overseeing the development of multi-quarter and annual marketing plans that outline key initiatives and performance metrics. Your forward-thinking approach will set the stage for our continued success in the dynamic mobile gaming industry.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Collaboration is key, and you'll be at the heart of it. Working closely with each game  studios’ marketing leaders and their cross functional growth teams including Product Marketing, Performance Marketing, Community, Player Support, User Research, Marketing Creative, and Analytics, you will ensure that our marketing efforts are closely aligned with product goals and market opportunities.
  • Creative Direction: You will use your proven creative prowess to challenge the team to come up with innovative methods and messaging to reach and engage their target audiences. Work with key external partners on refining our creative advertising strategies and selecting the most efficient advertising channels to communicate with our target audiences.
  • Insight-Driven Decision Making: Drawing upon player research, data analytics, and market intelligence, you'll gain deep insights into player behaviour and preferences, especially focused on our high value players. These insights will inform your strategic decisions, driving the development of highly targeted and effective marketing campaigns.
  • Budget Ownership: Establish a business plan to procure financing of the long term marketing plans, and oversee the allocation and management of marketing budgets across games, ensuring that resources are deployed effectively to deliver maximum ROI.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: As a leader in our marketing organization, you'll provide mentorship, guidance, and inspiration to our marketing teams. Your leadership will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, driving our collective success forward.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in consumer marketing, with a track record of successfully developing and implementing long-term marketing plans that have resulted in significant customer growth. Ideally this experience is in growing existing products rather than new product launches
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, platforms, and trends, with proficiency in performance marketing, branding, community and user acquisition strategies
  • Highly creative and innovative strategic thinking, willing to take bold bets based on deep customer insight
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and metrics to drive actionable insights and recommendations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional teams
  • Effective budget procurement and management
  • A strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for innovation and creativity in marketing
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Growth mindset: always strive to improve and learn, encourage teams and colleagues to do the same
