Angry Birds Friends partners up with WWF for Earth Hour

22.3.2017

WWF is the parent organization of Earth Hour. WWF started the Earth Hour with partners in Sydney, Australia back in 2007

This year Angry Birds Friends will be kicking in with a brand new Earth Hour Tournament! The pigs are making a mess again, this time at the park. It’s up to the Angry Birds to clean up the garbage (i.e. pigs) to help trees grow.  Plus, the pigs are carelessly leaving their lights on in the middle of the day! Break those light bulbs, and add some extra points to your score.

With the Earth Hour Tournament, Rovio wants to promote awareness for climate change. Earth Hour is not just an event, it’s a movement.

Earth Hour belongs to you. Celebrate your commitment to the planet with your friends, family, community or at work - in your own way. A simple event can be just turning off all non-essential lights for the Earth Hour. For one hour, focus on your commitment to our planet for the rest of this year.

The Earth Hour Tournament in Angry Birds Friends starts on March 20th and lasts until March 27th. The official Earth Hour will be celebrated on March 25th from 8:30pm to 9:30pm your local time. Remember to turn the lights out during that time, and join us in protecting our planet in the best way possible: flinging some birds!
