Angry Birds are known more for busting piggies, not rhymes. But this week they’re doing both -- thanks to young rapper Sidney Max and his dad, Andres “Dres” Titus from Black Sheep.

As shared by Billboard last month, Angry Birds fan Sidney took to YouTube to share his creation, the track “Here Come the Birds”. Now as a follow up, father and son have teamed up with Rovio and legendary hip hop producer DJ Premier to hit the streets of New York and bring the track to life with a new music video and weeklong Angry Birds Friends tournament.

The music video is now out, check it out below, listen to the track through Spotify and play through the Angry Birds Friends ‘Hip Hop’ tournament!

Rovio & NASA collaborate to raise awareness of New Horizon’s historic Pluto flybyhttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/682/rovio-nasa-collaborate-to-raise-awareness-of-new-horizon%e2%80%99s-historic-pluto-flybyIt all started in 2011, when a simple tweet from NASA’s Bob Jacobs sparked a discussion between the two organisations that has since then resulted in activities such as the historical launch of Rovio’s Angry Birds Space game from the International Space Station, several Angry Birds themed Space Centers and more.

The latest collaboration between Rovio & NASA is a fun learning experience in the form of   the Angry Birds Space Solar System game update. With the new episode we learn about the planets in our solar system and follow NASA’s New Horizons mission. Rovio was proud to raise awareness toward the mission through an in-game countdown to the moment of the flyby.

Additionally, with the Pluto-clicker functionality in Angry Birds Space, players were able to tap for Pluto to be a planet again. The clicker gathered more than 414 368 863 million +1 taps - at least the Angry Birds fans clearly want Pluto to get back to planethood!

Rovio and NASA also worked together on the new Rocket Science Show mini series launched in the Angry Birds Space game and on Toons.TV. The Rocket Science Show features NASA experts talking about exciting topics like the solar system, New Horizons and the Pluto flyby - complemented with Angry Birds fun!

The whole Rovio team is super excited to work with NASA on increasing awareness for New Horizons, the solar system and beyond. Learning about the solar system is now as easy as playing a game, a game of Angry Birds Space.

Check out the video below or head to NASA’s site to learn more about the New Horizons mission!

Angry at education injustice!http://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/680/angry-at-education-injusticeThe Oslo Education Summit, July 6th and 7th, was an impressive gathering of thought leaders, business leaders, education experts and world leaders. The discussions were intense and the sense of urgency was clear – we heard that there are not only 58 million children who are not in school but that the figure had actually escalated to 59 million.

Every single child deserves to learn. But it´s not enough to get all kids to school, we must also ensure that they get the best possible education. This requires engagement and fun and learning the important 21st century skills. We already know how to provide fun learning, we should just start distributing it evenly.

Summits where people passionately talk about important issues are definitely needed but not enough to solve the problem. These gatherings must absolutely lead to real action and active partnerships that start working toward the millennial goals we all have failed to reach. The buzz among the summit participants was tangible and we believe that now is the time for joint activities.

Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary General at Oslo Education Summit: “I welcome the #UpForSchool movement – they have enlisted the Angry Birds. My grandson loves that game so I asked him what they are so angry about. He said they blow up pigs. But when it comes to education they are angry at injustice.”

Peter Vesterbacka and Ban Ki-moon

The Mighty Eagle and Ban Ki-moon discussing the future of education and #funlearning.

P.S. As if you didn't know, the birds are angry because the pigs are after their eggs.

Angry Birds Fight! launches in Asia Pacific Countries on both iOS and Android!http://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/658/angry-birds-fight-launches-in-asia-pacific-countries-on-both-ios-and-android

We are very proud to announce Angry Birds Fight! is now launched in Asia Pacific countries on iOS and Android today. Angry Birds Fight! will continue its expansion to rest of world in early summer 2015.

Rovio’s very first game developed entirely in Japan is now available in Asian Pacific countries! Angry Birds Fight! was created together with Japanese developer KITERETSU Inc. - to capture the essence of the Japanese Fight!ing. All the great birds in Western world can also start to stretch their feathers - Angry Birds Fight! will be launched there on 11th June.

Here is the cool animation to celebrate Asia Pacific launch of Fight!. Great mash-up of Asian cultural tastes with Flocks and Pigs.

However, at the moment, it is all about Asia for Angry Birds Fight!. And so we shoot a couple of questions to Katsumi Oikawa, Rovio’s Country Manager in Japan: how are the birds fighting in Japan?

Konnichiwa, Katsumi-san! What excites you the most in the new Angry Birds Fight! game?

This game is Rovio's first game developed in Japan with Kiteretsu, Inc., and so we are able to enjoy a new kind of Angry Birds twist in Fight!

Angry Birds Fight! is a real time person vs. person game. In it you can fight live with a real person, which is a fun. And you can see how you are ranked among all the players.

The more you play, the stronger you become. Practising develops you - just like in real life. You can also strategically use skills and gems to build your favourite birds into good shape. Its also possible to invite one’s own friends to Fight! via Facebook. That’s the way to increase strength, too.

Which are the most favourite Angry Birds characters in Japan?

It has to be Red - the most iconic bird. But other birds are starting to Fight! for the attention and fans, as well. We have many great bird-personalities in our gang - I’m sure all of them will appeal to different people.

How does the Japanese gaming differ from European?

Japan is one of the largest mobile gaming market as measured by sales, and Japanese people tend to like role playing games with continuous live operations. That’s part of the Japanese flavour in Angry Birds Fight!.

In general, how are Angry Birds perceived in Japan?

Angry Birds are seen as a cute and humorous characters. I see a lot of potential with Angry Birds in Japan - their unique characters are able to truly Fight! their way into the hearts of Japanese mobile game players. With this new, Japan-developed AB Fight! our birds have great opportunity to grow in Japan, both in terms of game playes and Angry Birds fans.

What’s your personal tip to become an Angry Birds Fight! champion?

Fight it out. Practice makes perfect!

Angry Birds Fight! is currently available in:

Australia, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgystan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Micronesia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

New Angry Birds game soft launches in Canadahttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/625/new-angry-birds-game-soft-launches-in-canadaToday, we’re giving Canadian bird-flingers a sneak peek at a brand new game that’s under pigstruction, featuring those most enraged of avian protagonists, the Angry Birds! Join the core cast of Angry Birds characters (and some new faces) in a brand new twist on the slingshot gameplay you know and love.

As always, the birds are up against their admirably persistent, and thankfully clueless, piggy rivals. This time, the pigs are constructing things differently, and it’s sure to give players a new challenge every time. However, that challenge does not come without new ammunition on the birds’ side. Players can now collect bird cards that allow them to choose which bird they fling and when – and new spells allow the birds to pull off massive damage. Players must choose their birds and spells strategically because the pigs are constructing extra-difficult multi-stage levels. Consider the ante, upped.

Players will also have a chance to challenge one another in daily tournaments to earn feathers, upgrade their birds, and to see who’s the most hardcore bird-flinger of all – and the leaderboards will show the global pecking order. Game on!

During soft launch we’ll test the game and gather feedback from fans to max the fun and make it super entertaining. Download Angry Birds Under Pigstruction from the Canadian Apple App Store now!

We could not have thought of a better way to celebrate the Angry Birds’ 5th BirdDay, than to do fun and cool things with and for our fans! Have a look at our BirdDay photos from yesterday!

Welcome to the Flock!

We welcomed every baby born in Finland on December 11 to the flock with a special BirdDay present, a soft hoodie or a warm overall!

Time to Play the Next Level!

To celebrate the special occasion, we released “Play the next level”, an Angry Birds episode with 30 new levels created entirely by the fans! In Finland, we invited a big bunch of local kids to enjoy BirdDay activities that inspired them to be active and learn new skills while having a lot of fun at the same time! In the evening we hosted a Finnish hockey league match between Espoo Blues and Porin Ässät as part of the BirdDay celebrations. Custom-made BirdDay shirts, worn by Espoo Blues, will be auctioned to benefit Espoo Blues junior hockey.

Roll with the Pangolins in Angry Birds Friends - and help save these unique animals!http://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/581/roll-with-the-pangolins-in-angry-birds-friends-and-help-save-these-unique-animalsAttention, Angry Birds Friends fans! Get ready for a new tournament called Roll with the Pangolins, where you’ll get to save pangolins from poachers and help raise awareness of the plight of these wonderful creatures. The tournament will run between November 17-23rd.

Pangolins are the only scaly mammals in the world and their only defense is to curl up in a ball. It works well against their natural predators, like wild dogs and tigers, but not so well against humans, who illegally hunt and trade these unique animals for food.

What can you do to help pangolins? Rovio, United for Wildlife and its president, The Duke of Cambridge, teamed up to bring you information about how to help these animals. Check out the following video!

You can find more about pangolins in the guest blog post in AngryBirds.com, written by Carly Waterman from the Zoological Society of London. The video invitation and a special pangolin animation are also available at ToonsTV, both on the website and in all Angry Birds games.

Play the new tournament here!
