Rovio does not provide end user data to government surveillance agencieshttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/450/rovio-does-not-provide-end-user-data-to-government-surveillance-agenciesEspoo, Finland -- January 28th -- Rovio Entertainment Ltd, which is headquartered in Finland, does not share data, collaborate or collude with any government spy agencies such as NSA or GCHQ anywhere in the world.

There has been speculation in the media that NSA targets Angry Birds to collect end user data. The speculation is based on information from documents leaked by Edward Snowden.

The alleged surveillance may be conducted through third party advertising networks used by millions of commercial web sites and mobile applications across all industries. If advertising networks are indeed targeted, it would appear that no internet-enabled device that visits ad-enabled web sites or uses ad-enabled applications is immune to such surveillance. Rovio does not allow any third party network to use or hand over personal end-user data from Rovio’s apps.

“Our fans’ trust is the most important thing for us and we take privacy extremely seriously. We do not collaborate, collude, or share data with spy agencies anywhere in the world.  As the alleged surveillance might be happening through third party advertising networks, the most important conversation to be had is how to ensure user privacy is protected while preventing the negative impact on the whole advertising industry and the countless mobile apps that rely on ad networks”, said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Entertainment. “In order to protect our end users, we will, like all other companies using third party advertising networks, have to re-evaluate working with these networks if they are being used for spying purposes.”

Angry Birds Go! races into app stores worldwide!http://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/435/angry-birds-go-races-into-app-stores-worldwideReady, set, go! The birds and the pigs go soapbox racing in Rovio’s first blockbuster free-to-play game launched today and featuring Hasbro TELEPODS integration for all major platforms on mobile and tablet!

Espoo, Finland - December 11th -- Rovio Entertainment is proud to present Angry Birds Go! today in app stores across the world. The game is Rovio’s first major free-to-play Angry Birds title and the first time players get to see the Angry Birds world in glorious 3D as they race through Piggy Island.

In Angry Birds Go! players can jump behind the wheel of a downhill kart and race as Red, Chuck, Stella, King Pig, and other favorite characters from the Angry Birds universe. The game features well over 50 different soapbox karts and a selection of tracks ranging from canyons to speedways and stunt roads to air courses.

“Angry Birds Go! is our first major free-to-play Angry Birds game, and while we're super excited to step into this new territory, we’re also staying true to our roots,” said Jami Laes, the Executive Vice President of Games at Rovio Entertainment. “As with every previous Angry Birds game, there’s lots of free content and we have great new updates already planned – including the eagerly awaited arrival of multiplayer. Our main goal is to provide an amazing experience with more than enough content to make sure everyone has a blast. We do offer some really awesome premium content for fans who want a bit more, but we’ve designed the game so that you don’t have to pay to have a great time. The soft launch in select markets has helped us figure out what’s working well.”

There are many ways to enjoy the game with all the core gameplay in Angry Birds Go! available free of charge. Rovio has also teamed up with select partners, and these partnerships help Rovio to surprise fans with more fun and special content, such as free power-ups and exclusive karts. The first sponsors onboard at launch are State Farm, the Goldfish® Brand and Target.

Players will also have the opportunity to experience Angry Birds Go! with Hasbro’s TELEPODS digital gaming platform. Initially introduced with Rovio’s Angry Birds Star Wars II® earlier this year, the TELEPODS platform allows for a seamless integration of physical characters into the mobile gaming experience. The technology behind the TELEPODS platform allows players to “teleport” their physical Angry Birds Go! karts into the digital game using their mobile devices. With Angry Birds Go! Rovio and Hasbro are now launching a wide collection of karts, tracks, launchers and other fun toys across Hasbro’s TELEPODS and JENGA lines.

“With one million Angry Birds Star Wars TELEPODS figures sold within a month of becoming available, the TELEPODS line is one of the hottest toys for the holidays and Hasbro continues to deliver a seamless physical to digital play experience with the new Angry Birds Go! TELEPODS line,” said John Frascotti, Chief Marketing Officer, Hasbro, Inc. “Rovio has developed a fantastic new property with Angry Birds Go! and we look forward to fans enjoying the new TELEPODS line as well as the Angry Birds Go! JENGA games.”

Angry Birds Go! is out today for iOS, Android devices, Windows Phone 8 and Blackberry 10.

Rovio and Holiday Club Resorts open their largest joint outdoor Angry Birds Activity Park to datehttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/405/rovio-and-holiday-club-resorts-open-their-largest-joint-outdoor-angry-birds-activity-park-to-date

Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria -- October 29th -- Rovio Entertainment announced today the upcoming opening of Angry Birds Activity Park Gran Canaria on October 31st. Covering an area of more than 5000m2, this park is the fourth, and largest, in Rovio’s series of ventures with the leading provider of vacation travel services Holiday Club Resorts and the first to host Rovio’s new Café and Birthday services.

‘’We are really excited to bring another Angry Birds Activity Park to life; this time in Gran Canaria,” said Dan Mitchell, Rovio’s Director of Location Based Entertainment. “Gran Canaria is such a fun destination and the partnerships, teamwork, and dedication of everyone involved in this project will create another amazing experience for our fans. Featuring some all new elements, we really hope everyone, both local residents and tourists, will enjoy coming out and experiencing this together as a family.”

This new park in Gran Canaria will increase and complement the current leisure offerings on the southern side of the island. “We are all very proud of the forthcoming opening of Angry Birds Activity Park Gran Canaria. This new endeavor will certainly add value to the Puerto Rico resort area and will bring in more visitors. Apart from being a significant tourist attraction, it will also serve the local people and create new job opportunities”, says Calvin Lucock, Managing Director of Holiday Club Canarias.

“The European travel industry should concentrate more on content”, says Vesa Tengman, CEO of Holiday Club Resorts. “Too often the focus is on accommodation – of which there is already an oversupply. Active holidays are pivotal to Holiday Club. The Angry Birds Activity Parks complement our concept, which offers high quality holiday accommodation, services, and year-round activity possibilities.”

Rovio’s novel Café and Birthday services concept is a brand new addition to the existing amenities offered at Angry Birds Activity Parks, and will feature a diverse menu of fresh alternatives to quick bites as well as á la minute dishes and the possibility to organize personalized events at the venues, such as birthday parties.

‘‘Our Café and Birthday services at Angry Birds Activity Parks will offer delightful and tasty meal options for all family members as well as a variety of event planning possibilities for all occasions, adding further value to our existing range of entertainment options and allowing families to truly engage during their holidays’’, said Riikka Ahtiainen Director of Restaurants, Shops at Rovio Entertainment.

This park has been designed in collaboration with Lappset Group Ltd., a Finland-based company specialized in themed activity parks. ‘’We’re extremely excited to be part of this remarkable project and to have supplied this high-quality entity, the fourth of this kind for Holiday Club Resorts’’, said Tero Ylinenpää, Deputy CEO of Lappset Group Ltd.

Angry Birds is one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, starting in 2009 with the original mobile game that remains the number one paid app of all time. Angry Birds has expanded rapidly into entertainment, publishing, and licensing to become a beloved international brand.

The upcoming movie marks Rovio’s first foray into feature films, although fans have already been introduced to the Angry Birds world with the weekly Angry Birds Toons animated series. Rovio launched the series in March through its Angry Birds apps, as well as on select video-on-demand channel providers, Smart TVs, connected devices, and on select TV networks around the world. Paving the way for a full-length feature film, Angry Birds Toons has been a massive success for Rovio and has surpassed more than 1,000,000,000 views in its first seven months. In addition, Rovio successfully launched a sequel in the Angry Birds Star Wars saga in September accompanied with Hasbro’s Telepod toys. The game immediately topped app store charts in over 100 countries.

Rovio Entertainment’s animation channel surpasses 1 billion views, new Angry Birds series slated for 2014http://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/390/rovio-entertainment%e2%80%99s-animation-channel-surpasses-1-billion-views-new-angry-birds-series-slated-for-2014September 25, 2013 -- Advertising Week, New York, NY USA -- Rovio Entertainment announced today its ToonsTV channel, the video entertainment platform for the mobile generation, surpassed more than 1,000,000,000 views in its first seven months. During 2014 Rovio will start airing new Angry Birds series and a range of high-quality 3rd party content.

Rovio’s brand new series, currently in development, include Angry Birds Toons Season 2, a dedicated series for Bad Piggies, and a dedicated series for Stella, the pink bird. In addition to the original Angry Birds series, the first selection of Rovio’s new content partners for ToonsTV include the worldwide launch of Stan Lee’s Chakra the Invincible from POW! Entertainment and Graphic India; shorts, specials and series from Hasbro Studios’ classic brands; National Geographic Kids’ Amazing Animals; Fraggle Rock from The Jim Henson Company; and Oggy & the Cockroaches, Zig & Sharko, Space Goofs and more from Xilam Animation.

“We are extremely excited about the positive reception from our fans with the original Angry Birds Toons series. Given the size of our reach and our massively engaged audience, it seemed only natural to extend beyond our own storytelling and partner with the best content creators to bring our fans even more fun entertainment,” said Mikael Hed, CEO, Rovio Entertainment. “Bringing delightful, long-lasting and memorable stories to the world in a meaningful way is at the heart of what we do at Rovio, and ToonsTV is a perfect example of our core promise to our fans.”

"I can't wait to introduce the world to Chakra the Invincible - and I'm thrilled to do it on such a massive scale on ToonsTV, and with a partner like Rovio that really understands the fan community," said Stan Lee.

"Hasbro is thrilled to expand our dynamic alliance with Rovio and to be a part of such an exciting new video platform at its launch,” said Hasbro Studios President Stephen Davis

The ToonsTV channel is supported by premium advertising partners from verticals including entertainment, consumer packaged goods, apparel, and more. Sony Pictures, an official launch sponsor of the channel in March, recently debuted in ToonsTV an exclusive 5-minute scene from Sony Pictures Animation’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, ahead of the film’s September 27 release, garnering more than 1,000,000 views in its first week. A custom branded channel for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, featuring additional scenes from the film, went live in the U.S. last week.

“We were excited to be one of the launch sponsors of this innovative video distribution platform from Rovio," said Dwight Caines, President of Worldwide Digital Marketing, Sony Pictures. “And we've been blown away by the engagement we've seen and the size of the audience we've reached with our Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 campaign."

Rovio’s weekly Angry Birds Toons series launched in March 2013 in a dedicated ToonsTV channel across Angry Birds games, select video-on-demand channel providers, Smart TVs, and connected devices. Additionally, the Angry Birds Toons series is aired on more than 20 broadcast TV networks around the world.

Rovio exports a Finnish learning concept to the worldhttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/364/rovio-exports-a-finnish-learning-concept-to-the-worldEspoo, Finland – September 9th 2013 - Rovio Entertainment announced its Angry Birds Playground learning concept today, which is a new export title built on the highly respected Finnish educational expertise. The program is based on, but not limited to, the Finnish National Curriculum for Kindergarten. In addition, Rovio has entered into a preliminary agreement with 123 Education Development Ltd in China.

“The concept allows children to experience learning in a fun way. It has been scientifically studied and proven in cooperation with the University of Helsinki, Cicero Learning Network – making education both engaging and inspiring”, said Sanna Lukander VP Learning and Book Publishing at Rovio.

Young children are inspired in different life skill areas such as language, math and interaction, music, arts and crafts, and both physical and social education.

“What if learning was fun? That was the question we asked ourselves when we started to develop this exciting new concept. Having seen the enthusiasm when children and parents spend time with Angry Birds, we wanted to create fun new learning activities for them”, said Peter Vesterbacka, Mighty Eagle and CMO at Rovio.

“The most optimal circumstances for learning are set when having fun, being motivated, being appreciated for who we are and having permission to be autonomous and experimental. Learning is rewarding and effective when you feel safe to experiment, and this is totally in tune with the Angry Birds Playground fun learning philosophy”, said professor Jari Multisilta, director of Cicero Learning Network at the University of Helsinki.

“We collaborate with the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Helsinki, to ensure that our work is based on the most recent early learning research and also to adapt to innovative 21st century teacher education methods and practices”, said Sanna Lukander.

Rovio and 123 Education Development Ltd have now signed a preliminary agreement to open learning facilities in China, with the first Angry Birds Playground in a 123 Early Childhood Learning Centre in Shanghai. Here the children will have the possibility to play and learn through this fun learning concept with a designated classroom and play area.

The subject matter and skills to be learned are presented in a playful and exciting way. Children will be encouraged to get actively involved in the learning process while having plenty of fun at the same time. The Angry Birds Playground Club enables kids to learn in a creative, multifaceted way – making the best of technology-enriched learning environments, as well as learning opportunities within and beyond the classroom. Children will have access to Angry Birds learning materials such as activity books, toys, physical games, educational posters, mobile math, reference books, a five string instrument, game cards and physical activity games on an interactive whiteboard.

Rovio is known for collaborating with several scientific and educational brands and institutions like NASA, CERN, National Geographic Society and the University of Helsinki.

18 April 2013 -- Espoo, Finland-- Rovio Entertainment announced today that to support the continuous growth of Rovio’s games operations, Jami Laes has been appointed as the new EVP of Games and head of its game division. Jami´s extensive industry experience will be invaluable to Rovio’s management team.

Previously, Jami Laes has worked at Electronic Arts and Digital Chocolate. For the past six years, he has built global studio organizations to deliver world class social and mobile games. In particular, his experience in working with studios in China and Japan will support Rovio’s international development.

“Thinking back, this was a natural next step in my career. I have always been a huge fan of Angry Birds and it has been great to see the phenomenal success that Rovio has already achieved,” said mr. Laes. “Even so, we’ve only seen a fraction of what can be achieved with great brands like Angry Birds and Bad Piggies and I wanted to be a part of building that story.”

Petri Järvilehto, who had successfully steered the Games unit´s growth to this stage, has decided to move on in his career.

“With their excellent past track records, I have full confidence in our Games management and Studio heads to work together with Jami to do amazing work also in the future,” said Järvilehto. “This is a good time to hand over the reins.”

Rovio has had a strong start to the year, announcing its own in-game animation distribution channel and publishing its first free-to-play game. With this year´s roadmap, Rovio will continue to strengthen its position in the entertainment industry.

“Our games unit will, as it has up to now, continue playing a pivotal role in Rovio's success. Jami´s diverse international background and vision of the quickly-evolving games industry makes this the perfect moment for Jami to jump in and take us to the next level. Rovio Entertainment Reports 2012 Financial Resultshttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/284/rovio-entertainment-reports-2012-financial-results

Espoo, FinlandRovio Entertainment Ltd, the world’s leading provider of mobile entertainment and creator of the Angry Birds franchise, today had the pleasure of announcing its financial results for the full calendar year of 2012.

Total consolidated full year revenue grew by 101%, driven by a healthy growth in games revenue and consumer product sales, and amounted to €152.2 million (2011: €75.6 million). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were €76.8 million (2011: €46.9 million), up 64% from year 2011, and net profit after tax was €55.5 million (2011: €35.4 million).

“Year 2012 was another record-breaking year for Rovio. We doubled our revenue with an EBIT margin of 50%, more than doubled our headcount, established new offices and a New Business Ventures unit.” said Rovio CFO Herkko Soininen. “Also, to protect our own, as well as our partners’ and our fans’ interests, we continue to invest heavily in brand protection globally.”

"Rovio has grown from a phenomenon to a very successful global business. In 2010 we set out to build an entertainment company and after last years performance we are on a strong path to achieve our goal.” Mikael Hed, Rovio CEO said.

Strong growth throughout all business segments

The financial outcome of 2012 is very positive for Rovio. Games and Consumer Products business units had a healthy growth and the company made good progress with its entertainment business.

In 2012 Rovio launched four major chart topping games. Angry Birds Space, Amazing Alex, Bad Piggies and Angry Birds Star Wars catapulted the total number of Rovio game downloads to more than 1 billion in May 2012 and the total number of active monthly users, across all platforms, to 263 million in December, 2012. Driven by these launches Rovio’s Games business unit’s revenue continued to grow fast. The main revenue sources of the games business are paid games, virtual goods, and advertising.

The Consumer Products business unit’s revenue for 2012 was more than three times the revenue of 2011 and accounted for 45% of Rovio’s total revenue.

The number of employees grew from 224 to 518 during the year 2012.

Market and business development expectations

Future business will to a large extent depend on the success of new game launches, the company’s ability to keep its fans engaged with Rovio content and the success of new initiatives in 2013. The sales of new devices and fun, entertaining content remain the main drivers for mobile game downloads and Angry Birds Toons channel views. Rovio expects its business to continue to grow and by today, the total number of Rovio game downloads has exceeded 1.7 billion.

“We have had a stellar start for this year. In addition to our successful games portfolio we recently launched our first Angry Birds Toons series through third party partners and our own in-game distribution channel. We will continue to strengthen our position in the entertainment business through continuing to innovate on our existing brands, exploring creating new IP as well as exploring opportunities with external parties,“ Mikael Hed said.

Rovio Moving Towards Digital Advertisinghttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/267/rovio-moving-towards-digital-advertisingFebruary 14, 2013 -- Espoo, Finland -- Rovio Entertainment, best known for its Angry Birds phenomenon, including nine blockbuster mobile and online games and hugely popular animations; has now grown into a global lifestyle brand.  Rovio, while inspired by traditional media companies, has evolved into the media powerhouse of the connected device era—mobile, online, tablets, Facebook, Mac, PCs and smart TVs. Complemented by successful global launches of merchandise, activity parks, beverages and books; the brand has amassed an enormous, electrified fan base.

Having announced in May 2012 that the Rovio had over 1 billion downloads, and with its 263 million monthly active users (December 2012), the company has both reach and high fan-engagement levels dwarfing many other tier one media brands. Rovio's  YouTube video channel, which houses dozens of custom animations, has garnered nearly 1 billion viral views; its retail products are now generating a major part of Rovio’s revenues, and its animation studio is working on a major motion picture release.

“In a time when many companies delight in millions of app downloads, Angry Birds’ cross-platform media continuously reaches hundreds of millions of fans in a fun and engaging way. With this incredible reach we are fast becoming one of the most important digital advertising destinations for global brands,” said Andrew Stalbow, EVP, Strategic Partnerships.

Today the company announced the expansion of its global brand advertising partnership team with senior hires in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.  With this new team, Rovio will now be a direct media partner to the largest brands in the world.

“Our new Brand Advertising Partnership Team in the U.S. will enable us to now partner directly with other lifestyle brands,” said Michele Tobin, Head of North American Brand Advertising Partnerships. “The model of simply placing standard display ads in online and mobile properties is not necessarily strategic for the majority of tier one brands, and that model was in need of disruption. Rovio´s fan-first approach and engaged audience creates more native, integrated advertising experiences that more closely align to brands’ overall marketing goals.”

New North American Brand Ad Partnership Team

In the U.S., Rovio has added two new, experienced members to its North American Brand Ad Partnership Team in New York and Los Angeles. The new team will add an additional thirty plus years of TV, digital and mobile ad partnership experience, and Rovio will continue to build this team across the states to meet the growing needs of brands.

Betsy Flounders Novak has joined the North American Team as the Director of West and Midwest.  Betsy has nearly 20 years of television, mobile and digital advertising experience.  She has extensive experience creating strategic advertising partnerships with some of the largest global brands through premium media companies such as MTV (including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Spike and prominent MTV gaming properties), ESPN and People.com; as well as mobile display and video ad companies including Millennial Media and Rhythm New Media.

Matt Pfeffer, the new Director of the East Coast, is based in New York City, joining Rovio most recently from Millennial Media, a leading mobile advertising company; and he brings another decade of media experience from People.com, Ziff Davis and Golf Magazine.

New EMEA & APAC Brand Ad Partnership Team

“Brands and agencies in Europe and Asia want to work directly with scalable, next generation media companies, in unique ways,” said Todd Tran, Head of EMEA and APAC Brand Advertising Partnership Team.  “As a media platform, we have now achieved tier-one global reach and we have an opportunity to really pioneer true integrated cross platform brand experiences.”

Todd Tran has joined Rovio to lead its new EMEA and APAC Brand Partnership Ad Team, based in London.  Todd was most recently the EMEA General Manager of Apple’s mobile advertising business, where he successfully launched iAd in Europe.  He has 12 years of digital media and advertising experience including launching a digital and mobile agency for WPP in Europe. His previous experience also includes working as a management consultant in the technology and media practice at Bain & Company.

Raphaelle Tripet will join Todd Tran’s team in mid-February from inMobi, a leading global mobile advertising ad network.  Her prior experience includes digital ad sales at Nokia Interactive Advertising and strategic media planning at MEC.

Rovio announces John Cohen as the producer of Angry Birds moviehttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/248/rovio-announces-john-cohen-as-the-producer-of-angry-birds-movieDavid Maisel to executive produce upcoming 3D CG-animated feature film, debuting summer 2016

December 11th, 2012 -- Santa Monica, California -- On the third anniversary of the release of Angry Birds, Rovio Entertainment announced that Despicable Me producer John Cohen has signed on as producer of the upcoming Angry Birds movie. David Maisel, former Chairman of Marvel Studios and executive producer of Iron Man, will be executive producer of the feature film, coming to theaters in summer 2016. The film will be produced and financed by Rovio Entertainment.

“John’s an exceptionally talented producer, and we’re delighted to have him join the flock,” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Entertainment. “With John’s hands-on producer background and David´s expertise in establishing and running his own successful studio, these two are the dream team for making a movie outside the studio system. Both professionals have the ideal skills and vision to achieve incredible things.”

John Cohen most recently produced Illumination Entertainment/Universal Pictures' Despicable Me in 2010 and executive produced Illumination/Universal's Hop in 2011. Prior to Illumination, Cohen was VP of Production at Twentieth Century Fox Animation. He worked closely with Blue Sky Studios on films including Ice Age, Robots, Ice Age: The Meltdown and Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who. Cohen had the idea to reimagine Alvin and the Chipmunks and developed the 2007 film.

“I’m so excited and honored to be working on this film with Mikael, David, and Rovio’s incredibly talented game developers and artists,” said Cohen. “From both an entertainment and strategic perspective, Rovio is at the forefront of game innovation and is trailblazing terrific new ways for Angry Birds fans to interact with these characters. I've personally spent countless hours playing the Angry Birds games over the last few years, which I can now happily justify as research for the movie."

Following Marvel Studios’ example, which was architected by David Maisel, Rovio will produce and finance the movie outside the studio system and retain full creative control while creating innovative entertainment at the highest level of quality.

"John's experience, expertise, and passion are perfect for the Angry Birds film and I look forward to working with him to create the best movie experience for all the fans,” said David Maisel.

The upcoming movie marks Rovio Entertainment’s first foray into feature films, though fans have already gotten an introduction to the Angry Birds world through Rovio’s games, books, consumer products, and animations. Since its debut in 2009, the Angry Birds game has been downloaded more than 1 billion times across platforms and versions. The most recent venture, Angry Birds Star Wars, soared to the top of the US iPhone charts within 2.5 hours of release.

Rovio and CERN to collaborate on new learning experienceshttp://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/229/rovio-and-cern-to-collaborate-on-new-learning-experiencesOctober 12, 2012 -- Frankfurt -- The Angry Birds have taken flight in CERN as CERN Director General Rolf Heuer and Rovio Mighty Eagle, CMO Peter Vesterbacka announced the start of a new collaboration on fun learning experiences. This was also the kick-off for Rovio's new brand, Angry Birds Playground, a learning programme for 3 to 8-year-olds based on the Finnish National Curriculum for kindergarten. The Rovio-CERN collaboration is looking into ways of developing amazing learning resources.

Angry Birds Playground collaborates with the best partners on the planet and all possible dimensions to make learning fun. Collaboration with CERN is a natural choice after working with great partners such as the National Geographic Society.

“Modern physics has been around for 100 years, but it’s still a mystery to many people. Working together with Rovio, we can teach kids quantum physics by making it fun and easy to understand,” said CERN’s Head of Education, Rolf Landua, at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

“It’s a great fit for both sides, combining physics and Angry Birds in a fun way. Rovio has a great platform, with a broad reach and highly engaged fans, which makes this collaboration very promising. With Rovio and Angry Birds Playground, we get a great channel to communicate what CERN does,” said Landua.

“Rovio and Angry Birds Playground make learning fun,” said Peter Vesterbacka, Mighty Eagle and CMO. “When you’re really interested, you can learn anything. With Playground products, kids can have fun and learn more about physics than they would’ve in the ‘old-fashioned’ style of learning. I’ve been to CERN and experienced it myself. It’s a fun place to visit!”

Rovio has already demonstrated its reach with its first book app, Bad Piggies Egg Recipes, which launched yesterday. The app is already the #1 paid book app for iPad across the globe, including in the US, Canada, France, Germany, and Spain.
