Welcome to Rovio! We are looking for a Technical Director to join our newly-formed MMO Studio in London, UK. Rovio’s London studio is the latest addition to the Rovio family and this is a great chance to be part of creating a culture and a game from a totally fresh start. Here in London we have a fantastic creative and commercial brief and the enthusiastic backing of one of the undisputed global leaders of mobile F2P gaming. We are creating a massively-multiplayer game, and it will be your responsibility to hire and manage the development team, and together with our technical teams in our Finnish and Swedish offices, create a solution that meets the game design requirements with highly functional, efficient, secure and scalable technical services. This is a position that will really reward someone with both technical and people skills, equally able to motivate the technical team in a small studio, as create professional technical architecture design, and discuss, sell and implement ideas. While previous game development experience is a definite plus, a well researched and sincere interest in f2p mobile game development combined with relevant technical ability and experience is also fine by us. This is a position with serious responsibility attached, but there is room to grow at Rovio. The Office Manager will be responsible for making sure that the office space here in London is comfortable, fully functioning and suitably reflects our values, delighting visitors and team members alike. You’ll also be arranging team travel, executive calendars and scheduling meetings. As Rovio is an international company, you’ll also be responsible for building and maintaining great relationships with our offices in Espoo, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden and contacts with our central HR, comms, accounting and IT functions.
