Aside from all being Nordic countries with pretty cool flags and pretty cool weather (literally), these northerly neighbors also have pretty cool taste in cinema. A certain feathery film opened this weekend in all five territories, and swiftly crashed into first place at the box office in each. In Angry Birds’ native Finland, more than 65,000 people came out to see the flock on the big screen -- the biggest ever non-holiday opening for an animated film in the country’s history.
So thank you, Nordic countries. We’re off to a flocking great start together. And come this Friday, look out, America and China. We’re on our way!
