  • What is The Croods?

    The Croods is a new game from Rovio and DreamWorks, featuring the characters from the movie of the same name.

    Meet the world’s first modern family: The Croods! These cavemen are breaking out of the Stone Age with the use of a new r-evolutionary tool: the IDEA! The Croods will Hunt & Gather their way through spectacular new landscapes as they tame fantastic and never-seen-before creatures. Help The Croods survive the wild…and each other!

  • Why do I get an error message about my Internet connection?

    Internet access is needed to play the game. A connection error might be displayed when internet signal strength is poor.

  • Why is my game slow and/or sluggy?

    Closing other applications or rebooting the device might improve application performance.

  • How do I adjust the music?

    Music and sound effects can be toggled in-game in the settings menu.


  • Does the game work on my device?

    The game supports iPad 2 or later, iPhone 3GS or later, iPod Touch 4th generation or later.

  • I don’t want the game notifications, what do I do?

    You can choose whether to display game notifications or not in the prompt which is displayed the first time the game is launched, or by toggling notifications in the device settings.


  • What are the minimum system requirements?

    The game supports Android devices with >HVGA resolution, >800MHz CPU, >512MB RAM, Android operating system version >2.3, OpenGL ES >v2.0, CPU architecture ARMv7 minimum.

  • I don’t want the game notifications, what do I do?

    Game notifications can be toggled in-game in the settings menu.


  • Why do I keep seeing the tutorial?

    The tutorial starts over if you suspend the game before finishing the tutorial.

  • What is my goal?

    Your goal is to gather resources so that you can build a new device that lets you access a new area.

  • How can I find my active quests?

    Active quests are displayed by tapping the Granny character, or the Granny icon on the right hand side of the screen.

  • What are experience points and how do I get them?

    You gain experience points by completing quests and performing different actions like gathering resources.

  • How can I get more coins and crystals?

    You can buy more coins/crystals by tapping the yellow coin icon/blue crystal icon in-game. You can also earn coins by making soup with Ugga. Extra crystals can be earned by clearing rocks and trees from your territory, and visiting your friends' territories.

Rovio Account

  • Why would I register for a Rovio Account?

    With a Rovio Account you can save your game state on a cloud server, and continue your game where you left off on another device.

  • What if I don’t want to register for a Rovio Account?

    You can still play the game as the default account Guest user. However, all game data will be saved locally on your device.

  • What if I have played as a Guest and now want to create my own account?

    If you upgrade from a Guest player account to a full account by registering for a Rovio Account, the progress made using the Guest player account will be moved to the registered account. If at any point you sign out of the Rovio Account, the game will be started from scratch as a Guest player.

  • I want to have several Rovio Account users using the same device, will that work?

    Yes. Multiple Rovio Accounts can be used on the same device, each one having separate save game states.

  • I have an iOS device and an Android device. Can I use the same Rovio Account?

    The same account can be used cross-platform (iOS/Google Play/Amazon) but the save game file is platform dependent for The Croods. So if you have registered and made progress in game using an iOS device, then switch to an Android device with Google Play/Amazon build, and sign in to the previously used account, the game will start from scratch on that platform.
