Game Programmers, Espoo

Rovio has been growing rapidly after the phenomenal success of Angry Birds and the growth will continue even faster in near future. The Game unit’s goal is to delight our fans with fun and entertaining games and for ensuring this we cherish an innovative culture where all ideas matter. We want to make diamonds and are ready to invest time and effort for picking the raw ideas and polishing them into brilliant quality game concepts.

The Angry Birds’ home is expanding and Rovio is now looking for motivated, collaborative and talented Game Programmers at various experience levels to join the growing team in Espoo, Finland!

Your key focus will be in programming games from the beginning of development through the entire production cycle. You will work in tight co-operation with the game designers and rest of the team. You are responsible of implementing and polishing the features that are needed for the game. You’ll be able to participate in the technical game design in your project as well.

Requirements:

• Game Programming experience on published projects.
• Proven strong C++ programming skills.
• Scripting skills and spare time game projects are considered as plus.
• Passion for making games.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under high pressure deadlines.
• Suitable Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or advanced ongoing studies.

As a Game Programmer you will be both an active project team member and responsible for creating games with your fellow programmers. The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of relevant work experience, preferably in an international environment with similar or equivalent job description. All of the roles require ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, excellent organization, communication and team collaboration skills. You are ready to learn and adopt new things on a fast-paced dynamic environment. Excellent written and oral skills in English are essential.
