Java Game Programmer

Rovio is looking for a talented and motivated Java Programmer to join our growing Web Games team in Espoo, Finland. As a Java Game Programmer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our web games mostly using Java and additionally be in charge of other tasks that contribute to web games development. You will be working in an international creative work environment where your input and contribution will matter.

Requirements:

• Proven HTML and Java background. At least 2 years of work experience using these languages.
• Experience in game development in any platform either a commercial product or a hobby project/demo is a must. (Please provide references)
• Experience with JavaScript, Json, ActionScript3, Facebook API, GWT, AppEngine, C++ is a plus.
• Experience with Eclipse IDE is a plus.
• Experience with HTML5 canvas and/or WebGL is a big plus.
• Experience in client/server interaction, J2EE, session handling, cross browser compatibility issues is a plus.
• Efficient in reading/debugging code written by others and providing neat well organized code in true OOP style which can be maintained by others later.
• Efficient in code debugging and memory/performance optimizations.
• Interest on games, and especially online social games.
• Relevant university degree is a plus but not a must.

Excellent written and oral skills in English are essential.
