Web Programmer

Rovio is looking for enthusiastic Web Programmers at various experience levels to join our growing Web Games team in Espoo, Finland. As a Front End Programmer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the web applications and other tasks to contribute to web games development. You will be working in an international creative work environment where your input and contribution will matter.

Requirements:

• Experience with building visually appealing, dynamic and functional web sites with modern web technologies.
• Talent for writing maintainable and modular code, supported with automated tests and continuous integration.
• Good Java skills.
• Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX and relevant libraries (e.g. jQuery).
• Natural understanding of MVC architecture, including JSP, JSF or related technologies/frameworks.
• Sound understanding of common security challenges for web applications.
• Familiarity with version control and build systems (svn, git, maven)

Optional additional skills which will be considered as plus

• Experience with Google Web Toolkit.
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks (Guice/GNI, Spring).
• Knowledge of communicating with embedded Flash content and fundamentals of ActionScript3.
• Experience with social network APIs, for example Facebook and Google+.
• Experience with HTML5 features such as Canvas, local storage, WebGL.
• Knowledge of database systems (RDBMS or NoSQL storage).
• Knowledge of cloud hosting technologies such as Google App Engine and Amazon Web Services.
• Familiarity with browser compatibility problems.
• Experience working with agile and iterative processes.

Excellent written and oral skills in English are essential.
