1. Why did you decide to work for Rovio?
I have a strong background and experience both in digital creative strategy and practical daily management of branded social media presences and websites. Previously I worked as the lead for Nokia’s global community management team. Rovio was looking for a social marketing manager and I think both sides came to the conclusion that I would be a good fit with the existing flock of birds at Rovio. I was excited about the opportunity from the very first moment on and that excitement has only grown the more experience I gain from working with a great brand like Angry Birds and such an awesome bunch of people.
2. Why do you like working at Rovio?
The Rovio team is great, enthusiastic, massively talented, agile and everyone is excited about what we are doing. In addition I love the game - obviously. The number one thing for me though is that our fan community is massively enthusiastic about all things Angry Birds and it's a great pleasure to work with them.
3. What are your main responsibilities and duties?
I'm heading up Rovio's social marketing and customer engagement activities. That includes managing our official channels on social networking channels, the biggest being http://www.facebook.com/angrybirds. I'm also responsible for the customer facing content strategy and channel development, and I make sure what we do in these channels is in line with the company strategy and other marketing activities. We also have a wonderful support team who makes sure everyone who contacts Rovio with questions about the games, merchandise or online purchases get the greatest customer care possible. In addition, I work on various social marketing projects and participate where needed to help make Angry Birds an even greater social gaming experience.
4. What are the most challenging and interesting projects you've worked on at Rovio?
I'm excited about the day-to-day work on our social presences, coming up with fun things to do with the fans, listening to their ideas and feedback, which are so valuable to us. It's a very interesting project, developing that dialogue and creating spaces for the Angry Birds fans to talk to each other and to us.
5. What has been the most amazing experience or day you have had at Rovio?
As I said, I'm amazed by the awesome Angry Birds fan community and especially the Angry Birds fan art people create. It seems people have endless imagination and also put a lot of effort into it. Go take a look at our Fan art album at http://www.facebook.com/angrybirds or search Twitter for #AngryBirdsArt and you'll see it yourself! I think the greatest thing at Rovio is that each day is different. There hasn't been a single boring moment yet, and I can't imagine there will be any in the future either!
